AMMUNITION FOR GOD’S SOLDIERS, by Patricia Hall, utilizes the process of preparing for, entering, and being stationed in the military as the basis for her book. It is written in a unique poetic style and each poem emphasizes the importance of the word of God in all aspects of life.
AMMUNITION FOR GOD’S SOLDIERS starts with the beginning of our journey towards living out the Christian life with the heading of Enlistment (new recruits) and continues through The March of Victory. Captured under each heading is relative poetry that is designed to provide examples of life’s challenges and how to use the word of God to challenge us to continue our victorious march to glory.
Spiritual warfare in the Christian’s life is an ongoing battle and Ms. Hall’s interpretation continues to give biblical examples of how God will never desert us from conflict to conflict if we are willing to cover ourselves with the armor only He can provide. For an example, Ms. Hall’s poem “God’s Soldier” begins with adjectives that describe the emotions felt during conflict. She writes of the journey and shows us that faith and prayer are the answer, and gives scriptures to read for reference.
AMMUNITION FOR GOD’S SOLDIERS will inspire thought through remembrance of your own struggles as well as struggles you have encountered with others. It is a book of encouragement and a reminder that we have the only tool we need to fight any battle, which is the word of God.

Dying on the Edge Blog Tour with Francine Craft

Getting to know Francine Craft…

What is the best piece of advice you have received, from either a fan or a fellow author?
That’s easy.  When I –I’ll say whined – to a prominent writer about what I suffered in the past, she smiled and said, “But that’s what made you the writer you are.” TouchĂ©.

What is the one story you want to write, but haven’t?  What obstacles are keeping you from writing it?
I have several stories in mind and nothing is keeping me from writing them.  I will in due time.

How much of your own personal life is reflected in your writing?
Before Edge, some.  I have known and had relationships with several really great men that I considered good enough for any queen, so my romances reflect that.  But it’s Edge that reflects a lot of my life, without the drugs.  I’ve always been at least somewhat depressed and so would really be crazy to do drugs, but Edge reflects a couple of painful facets of my own life.
I must admit, it truly irritates me when I hear someone say, “I wonder if she’s done all that.  Oh, she must have,” of me and other authors.  I haven’t killed anybody and I never will, but I know how it feels to want to and yes, to do it.  Feelings are universal and we all empathize with others.

Christian fiction author ReShonda Tate Billingsley it as it again with Holy Rollers. Mrs. Billingsley tackles some of the messiest issues that go on inside of today’s churches and turns them into a humorous storyline.

In Holy Rollers, long time friends, Audra, Juanita and Cocoa are tired of the pro baller scene. As they approach a certain age they come to the realization that they can no longer compete with younger athletic groupies who are on the hunt for a sugar daddy, a baby’s daddy, or a husband.

After catching word of a local Baptist convention on television, Audra and her friends decide to set their sights on more heavenly prospects, men of the cloth. These three women put on their Sunday’s best—or worst, and work the conference like ladies of the night working a club. Bingo!

Audra meets Lewis, a minister from Atlanta before the day is out, finds herself in bed with the good reverend. Audra is gluten for punishment and soon becomes a pawn in Lewis’ game of chess, or cat and mouse.

Juanita meets Reverend Marshall Wiley. This good reverend is a widow and if Vera and the church bitties have anything to say about it, he will stay one. Instead of using class to quiet the women, she resorts to ways of the streets to try to keep her man. Juanita just may be successful in snagging the well to do reverend, but she just can’t seem to resist her weakness; Neil.

Cocoa meets Davis but is reluctant to open up to him after recovering from an abusive relationship from an ex-baller. Just when she thinks it’s time to give herself to Davis, Sonny shows up and he’s not happy.

Worlds collide as past hurts and deep dirt comes to the surface. All three of these women’s lives explode and it may surprise you who is, or isn’t left standing.

I have read several titles by ReShonda Tate Billingsley and to date; Holy Rollers is the best one yet.

REVIEW: Diary of a Stalker by Electa Rome Parks

Diary of a Stalker by Electa Rome Parks is one of those books that should be made into a big screen motion picture. Ms. Parks had me wondering for a moment how a sane person could write such a perfect and disturbing character.

Xavier Preston is a best-selling male author. His newest novel is called Secret Desires and he’s signing copies of it in Atlanta. As to be expected, Xavier’s fan base is made up of mostly women and each of them would claim that they are his number one fan.

Don’t tell that to Pilar. According her, she is Xavier’s number one fan and she thinks Xavier is her soul mate. Xavier takes Pilar’s bait and they end up in bed together. It could be the last mistake he makes.

I was amazed at how Ms. Parks was able to consistently show the unraveling of a psychopath stalker. I was equally amazed at how she uncovered what really goes on in the literary world. Movie stars and entertainers are not exempt from womanizing, stalking and bouts of indiscretions that go on behind the scenes.

I truly believe that Xavier got what he deserved; it was unfortunate that it was at the expense of his fiancé. I also believe that someone at some point needs to decide that it is time to put an end to generational curses and that as mothers and fathers we need to heal our children so that they may have a chance to live productive lives.

Kudos to Electa Rome Parks for writing this novel. The author touched upon so many important topics at once. I cannot wait to read more from this author and I cannot wait to see if Ms. Parks pegs Diary of a Stalker to become a major motion picture.

The Live Ladies of Literature Give Circumstances by Yolanda M. Johnson 5 Stars!

5.0 out of 5 stars A very shocking ending!August 8, 2010
This review is from: Circumstances (Paperback)
A true fan of fictional reads, I can usually figure out most of the time how a novel will end however, Circumstances writen by Yolanda Johnson has thrown me for a serious loop. Renee Mathews, a hard working independent sister simply wanting real love from her mother Barbra Jean ends up rejected and disappointed everytime. Due to Barbra Jean enduring so many unfortunate occurances in her life she misplaces her pain inappropriately on her only daughter. On top of the dysfunctional mother and daughter situation, Marlene, Renae's opportunistic best friend is anything but a real friend.

Charlie, Renae's friend who convinces her to relocate to San Diego to escape from all of the madness seems to be the only one to purely have her best interest at heart. Afraid of flying on airplanes, Renae discovers that relocating from Colorado to San Diego was the best decision she could've ever made. Free at last and no longer having to worrying about her mother and Marlen calling only simply to use her,Renae finds herself becoming romantically involved with two great men and having to make a tough decision in regards to whom she will spend the rest of her life with.

After making the choice on who she decides to marry and assuming that her family most likely will not attend the happiest day of her life, Renae decides to send wedding invitations out to her mother and other relatives in Colorado. Surprisingly, they show up. Needless to say the ending of this book this book provides a cliff hanger like no other. Way to go Ms Johnson. I can't for the saga to continue in your second book.
