BOOK TOUR: Liberation with Wanda B. Campbell

About the Author
Wanda B. Campbell is an extraordinary and talented writer who brings creativity, a new sense of hope, and restoration through the healing power of God to the Kingdom, by way of Christian fiction. Wanda uses real life everyday issues to exhort, motivate, and give comfort to all.

A romantic at heart, Wanda uses relationships to demonstrate how the power of forgiveness and reconciliation can restore us back to God and one another. Wanda currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband of twenty-two years, and two sons. She holds the unique position of being the oldest of five siblings and the youngest of twelve. Her hobbies include writing and reading of course, traveling, and collecting magnets from around the world. Her favorite hobby is spoiling her grandson.

About the Book
Tired of living a life of manipulation and abuse, Shannon Yates trades in her mini-skirts, colored contacts, and twelve-inch weave for a Bible. Although she accepts the liberation found within its pages, walking in her newfound freedom proves easier said than done. Just when the thing Shannon longs for the most is within reach, insecurities and old emotional wounds resurface, causing her to reject the blessing the Father has for her. Will love cast out all fear and liberate Shannon before it’s too late? Or will she settle for the familiar?

This is my first Wanda Campbell novel and I’d have to say that this book both infuriated me and “liberated” me. There are so many instances when the term, “It takes a village . . .” rings true.

Shannon Yates is from the hood and her family won’t let her forget it. However, Shannon wants more for herself. All the odds were against her and she nearly took herself out. But, someone saw something special in her, and that someone was Julia Simone-Pennington. Julia is the perfect example of what women in the church are supposed to be. Even though Shannon’s mother and other family members treated her bad, Julia showed Shannon that she was somebody.

Shannon’s mother, Velma, has despised Shannon since birth. Shannon goes through so many unsatisfying relationships and much emotional turmoil that she doesn’t realize what love is when he slaps her in the face. God sent her a blessing in the form of Marcus and he is intent on carrying out God’s will—no matter how much Shannon tries to sabotage it.

This title made me angry because I could not understand how a mother gets a high out of seeing her daughter fail and how sisters could be so envious of someone trying to make a better life for herself.

I loved the book because (SPOILER) there is a happy ending. Shannon claims what is rightfully hers ‘thus sayeth the Lord’, and she comes to accept that God decides her destiny, not her family. The sad thing is that I know several women like Shannon. I used to be her, so this book touched many emotions. I loved the ending. Good job Ms. Campbell—this makes me want to go back and read some of your other titles. I also suggest this title to any woman who’s had family who tried to make them feel less than.

Be Still & Know Virtual Book Tour w/Cassietta Jefferson

About The Book
Bitterness and deception always manage to find their way to the surface. Be Still & Know is a novel about finding love after devastating heartbreak and the challenges of learning to trust again.

Kai Bennett never believed that she was worthy of love. Too many years of being mistreated left her bitter and uncertain of her own self-worth. Finding validation in men, money, and trinkets, she has little use for a man becoming a permanent fixture in her life. That was until she met Alvin. What starts as a game of cat and mouse quickly develops into something Kai is unsure she is ready to handle.

Alvin Reigns discovered long ago that in love, there were no happy endings. He had fallen in love once, and vowed to never again allow any woman that much control over his heart. Kai Bennett was an unexpected surprise who made him want to believe in the possibility of a happy ending. After many years of self-preservation, Alvin is unsure if he should trust Kai with his heart.  How will Alvin and Kai learn to trust and create their own happy ending?

Uncovered Virtual Book Tour w/ Shenette Swan

About the Author
Shenette Swann Jones is a native of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, but will always claim Memphis, Tennessee, as her second home. Coming from a family of talented singers and musicians, music has always played a first role in Shenette’s life, but writing would always remain her most treasured gift among her other talents. When Shenette wasn’t singing or choreographing a dance routine, she would escape to her many journals or poetry clubs, and eventually even a newspaper staff or two. From music to writing, her passion for life shines in every multifaceted direction she takes.

Today, Shenette is a motivational speaker, a community activist, an incredibly diverse vocalist, and a new novelist. The year 2010 saw Shenette’s first published work in “Home Again; Stories of Restored Relationships”, a heartwarming anthology by award winning author Wanda B. Campbell. Since then, Shenette has perfected her craft as a writer in order to produce her first novel, Uncovered. When she isn’t blogging, journaling, or creating another story, Shenette enjoys taking an aggressive stand in the community against domestic violence and sexual assault. She also advocates strongly for youth education rights and racial relations within her community.

After 13 years of marriage and two wonderful sons, Shenette is thoroughly excited to return to writing full-time and hopes to use her imagination as a tool of inner healing, self-reflection, and a great source of entertainment for others.

About the Book
After 5 years of marriage, Minister Stephanie Hall's patience wears thin with her husband's disinterest in sexual intimacy. With her desire for closeness and attention causing her faith to plummet, Stephanie fights an inner struggle of beauty and self-acceptance as her desperate need to be adored grows out of control...

Markus Hall wishes his past would go away, but the haunting events of his childhood years keep him distant from his wife Stephanie, and her constant requests for sex only push him away and remind him of the very things he’d rather forget. When his boss calls upon Markus to tutor his stunningly gorgeous daughter for her college classes, he can’t resist such a tempting offer, feeling needed and important each time the beautiful tutorial student looks into his eyes...

Suspecting that the relationship between her husband and the Indian beauty is more intimate than it seems, Stephanie decides to take matters into her own hands: weary with prayer, she abandons her faith and finds gratification in the arms of Matthew King, a church member’s husband...

With Markus and Stephanie's healing seemingly too far to reach, they both find themselves searching for anything that resembles true love; however, in the pursuit of their new passion, the troubled spouses soon find themselves uncovered in a bitter storm of infidelity. Will this God fearing couple return to their faith and mend their brokenness...?

Uvi earned her B. A. in Architecture and Town Planning from the Technion in Haifa, Israel. During her studies and in the years immediately following her graduation, she practiced with an innovative Architectural firm, taking a major part in the large-scale project, ‘Home for the Soldier’; a controversial design that sparked fierce public debate.

At the age of 25 Uvi moved to Troy, N.Y. with her husband and two children. During the years she spent in advancing her career—first as an architect, and later as a software engineer, software team leader, software manager and a software consultant (with an emphasis on user interface for medical instruments devices)—she painted constantly, and exhibited in Israel and California. In addition, she taught art appreciation classes.

Above all, Uvi devotes herself passionately to her artwork, creating evocative and compelling images that touch the heart and engage the mind.

About the Book

Aaron Jamieson is living a carefree life. He's good-looking, respectable when he's in the mood, but his weakness is women. When a woman tries to ambush him with a pregnancy, he takes off in the other direction. Responsibility as an option is something he learned from his absentee father.

Talise Rogers has a bright future ahead of her. She's pretty and has no problem catching a man's eye, which is exactly what she does with Ace. Their chemistry is undeniable and their passion explosive. Trapping Ace is the furthest thing from Talise's mind, when she learns she is pregnant.  She is determined to be a good parent.

When Ace rejects her she lets him know, " I want nothing from you Ace, not even your name," and she means it.  But Ace's big brother and cousins don't plan to let the child who represents the twelfth generation descendant of a royal African tribe leave the fold. Whether Ace decides to accept his responsibility or not, his family embraces Talise and baby.  As for Ace, they turn him over to the LORD.  How long will he be able to endure the guilt trip he's experiencing because of his choices?  What will it take for him to accept responsibility and turn from following in his father's footsteps?

About the Series

The Jamieson Family Legacy series follows the lives of the two Jamieson brothers in Boston, Kidd and Ace and their cousin Cameron from St. Louis.  Kidd, the older brother, is struggling with anger and resentment issues toward his absentee father who never married his mother, but had the audacity to demand his illegitimate sons carry his last name Jamieson. Ace, on the other hand, is on a collision course with disaster as he shows how much a "chip off the old block" he is when it comes to women. Their highly educated MIT graduate cousin, Cameron Jamieson, is all about saving his family from self-destruction. Through genealogy research, Cameron's mission is to show his cousins their worth as eleventh generation descendants of a royal African tribe and give them a choice: to be angry black men or accept the challenge to become strong successful black men.

The Jamieson men in this three book series are challenged with accepting that the past and the present are both in God's hand.  Without Him they can't move forward toward their future blessings. The bonus storyline is one that progresses the story of the much-loved Grandma B.B. character from the author's previous Guilt books and her new sidekick, Mrs. Valentine.
