In The Season of Sin by Stacy-Deanne, Nadia Hollister is loved by her family friends—so it’s no surprise that they’d be upset to find out that she’s been murdered. As Detectives Kemp and Morris delve into the investigations, the list of potential suspects begins to grow; including her lesbian lover Shannon and her daughter’s forbidden boyfriend. Nadia’s daughter, Dylan, soon finds that her mother has kept many secrets from her and her world is turned upside down.
This book was a slow read for me as I often found myself confused as to who was talking to whom as well as under developed scenes. The story has potential; it just missed the mark for me.
