POSSIBLE SPOILER!!!

In A Reason for Hatred, by J.E. Thomas is a daunting recollection of Hadassah’s tumultuous past. Sometimes it takes someone from our past to help us deal with and heal from past hurts.

After thirty-two years of being apart, and through a chance meeting, Hadassah reunites with her childhood friend Sylvia. The two agree to take a cruise together to catch up on old times. During this four day venture to Catalina Island, Hadassah recollects and shares her story of sexual and physical abuse, teen pregnancy, more abuse and eventually the death of her mother.

With all that Hadassah had endured is enough to make a person go crazy and even contemplate suicide. Hadassah’s heroic tale of hurt and forgiveness is enough to give anyone hope. This is the reason why God wants us to forgive, for it’s not for the other person, but for your own self-development.

In conclusion, with this story and activism by the author, I believe this will help many others who have endured abuse and have yet to deal with it.
