As not only a writer, but also a mother, I was concerned when I chose to open my genre up from adult fiction to children's books. Not wanting to cause concern or confusion I chose to write these books under my childhood nickname so that parents can be guaranteed the books they are buying from me as a writer are appropriate for their children 12 years and younger.

Palooka is a journal of fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, plays, graphic short stories, graphic essays, comic strips and art/photography. We offer print and electronic versions of our journal and are also an online presence offering samples of the published materials.
We're determined to find those writers and artists who are flying under the radar, producing great works that are going unnoticed by other journals. We read absolutely everything sent to us, word-for-word, right down to the very last juicy sentence. This is a journal for everyone, but we're really into publishing the up-and-comer, the underdog in the literary battle royale. Give us your best shot. We dare you.

Established in 1956, Colorado Review publishes contemporary short fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, and book reviews. It is published three times a year by the Center for Literary Publishing at Colorado State University.

The Normal School is a bi-annual journal featuring nonfiction, fiction, poetry, criticism and culinary adventure journalism. We are nestled happily into the California State University at Fresno like a comfy spore in a benign and mighty lung. We dig quirky, boundary-challenging, energetic prose and poetry with innovations in content, form, and focus, which isn’t actually as high-falutin’ as it sounds. We’re just sort of the lit mag equivalent of the kid who always has bottle caps, cat’s eye marbles, dead animal skulls, little blue men and other treasures in his pockets.

We offer support for writers & programs including an online guide to writing programs, career services & job list, a calendar of grants & awards, an annual conference & book fair, a directory of writing conferences & centers, the Writer's Chronicle published 6 times a year, program assessments, and much more!

BOMB Magazine, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is celebrating 30 years of independent publishing and programming. BOMB delivers the artist’s voice by producing in-depth interviews between visual artists, writers, musicians, actors, directors, and architects. BOMB’s mission is to reveal artists’ ideas, their thoughts and creative processes, as well as their progress, through carefully developed dialogues—now and for posterity.

We’re dedicated to helping writers everywhere get their books published. Between us, we have over a quarter of a century’s worth of experience turning talented writers into published authors. Whether your book suffers from Titleitis, has no spine or needs a chapterectomy, we will help you fix it so that you can write it, sell it, and market it. Successfully. Not to mention have fun while doing it.

LibraryThing is a full-powered cataloging application, searching the Library of Congress, all five national Amazon sites, and more than 80 world libraries. You can edit your information, search and sort it, "tag" books with your own subjects, or use the Library of Congress and Dewey systems to organize your collection.

Greenpoint Press, a wing of New York Writers Resources, is a not-for-profit publisher of quality fiction and non-fiction books. We are a small publisher of quality books, fiction and non-fiction, and an arm of the not-for-profit organization, New York Writers Resources, which includes the webzine, Ducts.org, and our teaching division, New York Writers Workshop.
